Founder and Managing Director of Tecnalia Ventures, the pioneering industrial deep tech venture builder in Europe (13 years) where he has participated in the creation of +25 spin-offs raising +240MM€ in funding with a valuation of portfolio companies in excess of 300M€. He holds an MBA from London Business School / Sloan MIT and cross-registration at Harvard Business School with a BA in Basque Country University (Spain) and Erasmus at ESC Reims (FR). Earlier in his career he worked fostering technological innovation in: Accenture (IRL); BNP Paribas (FR); Gilead (UK-TUR); The Parthenon Group-EY (UK-USA) and Dubai Health Authority (UAE). He is part of the Executive Committee of Tecnalia; Chairman in H2SITE and NED in other 8 deep tech spin-offs; a Professor at Deusto Business School and IE Business School; an EIC Accelerator Jury member; a Board member of the TTO Circle (G-30 of leading European RTO Tech Transfer Offices), leading the deep tech entrepreneurship Working Group; a BA Investor and cofounder of Gymchess. He is a regular speaker in conferences and part of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Universities “Knowledge Transfer Expert Group”.

Prof. Daniel Ramón holds a degree and a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Valencia. He carried out his doctoral research at the pharmaceutical company Antibióticos S.A. He completed postdoctoral stays at Wageningen Agricultural University in the Netherlands. He was Professor of Food Technology at the University of Valencia and Research Professor at the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (IATA) of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). In 2003, he founded the biotechnology company Biopolis SL, specialising in microbial biotechnology, and in 2008 he founded Lifesequencing SL, specialising in high-throughput genomics. Both companies were acquired in 2017 by the American company Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM), where he served as Vice President of R&D in Nutrition and Health at ADM. Since 2024, he has been Professor of Food Technology at Cardenal Herrera CEU University.
His technological results are protected by 33 patent families covering more than 200 national and international patents, most of which have been transferred and are in use. He has published 190 articles in leading international journals. He has received the Award of the Spanish Society for Microbiology, the Danone Institute Scientific Career Award, the Juan de la Cierva National Research Award, the International Hippocrates Award, the García Cabrerizo Foundation Medal for the Promotion of Invention, and the International NutraChampion Award.
He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Governing Board of the Spanish National Research Council and a full member of the Royal Academy of Engineering of Spain.

Evan Floden is CEO and co-founder of Seqera, the company behind Nextflow, the open-source workflow engine used by researchers and life sciences organisations worldwide, and a leading contributor to the nf-core community. Seqera was born at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) in the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB), where Evan completed his PhD in biomedicine and, together with Paolo Di Tommaso, developed Nextflow in the Comparative Bioinformatics group. Spun out of CRG in 2018, Seqera today serves many of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, providing the infrastructure for reproducible, scalable data analysis and, increasingly, for agentic AI in scientific discovery. Originally from New Zealand and based in Catalonia for over a decade, Evan is passionate about how open science and open-source communities can be the foundation for building sustainable companies and entire technology ecosystems.

Mabel Loza is Full Professor of Pharmacology at USC, Scientific Director of the CiMUS Research Centre, Head of the BioFarma Research Group, and Scientific Director and founding trustee of the Kærtor Foundation. She also leads the Innopharma High-Capacity Screening and Pharmacogenomics Platform, the Spanish node of EU-OPENSCREEN ERIC, where she also serves as Spain’s scientific representative to the Assembly of Members. She oversees the Screening Programme of the national Complementary Plan for Biotechnology Applied to Health (PCBAS) and directs several joint research units and strategic programs with the Spanish pharmaceutical industry.
She was the leader of the Diagnostic, Prognostic, and Therapeutic panel at the Spanish Research Agency (AEI) from 2020 to 2023, and she was/is the coordinator of the Drug Discovery Networks of Galicia (REGID) and Spain (REDEFAR, ES-OPENSCREEN I and II).

Andrea González Vaudé is a Project & Stakeholder Manager at Repsol. She has extensive experience in the management of strategic projects, the coordination of multidisciplinary teams, and relations with public authorities, scientific institutions, and industrial partners.
Throughout her career, she has led complex initiatives in the energy, environmental, and regulatory fields, promoting the integration of technical, sustainability, and business criteria into decision-making processes. Her work focuses on the development of innovative solutions that help address the challenges of the energy transition, strengthen collaboration between science and industry, and generate value for society.

Anabel Sanz has broad experience in the evaluation of technologies in life sciences, intellectual asset management, licensing, business development, and new ventures. Since 2010, she has held managerial positions in technology transfer at three research excellence centers of the SOMMa Allicance, CNB-CSIC (Biotechnology), CNIO (Oncology), and since 2019 at CRG (Genomics). Previously she worked for more than a decade in a spin-off (CropDesing) of the Flemish Institute for Biotechnology (VIB) and in the multinational company, BASF (DE), in the field of plant genetics. She has implemented innovation processes and successfully supported the establishment and boosting of numerous public-private research partnerships. In the last 4 years, 2020-2023, she has fostered the incorporation of 4 new spin off companies of CRG where she also acts as observer in the board of directors. She is a member of various networks of technology transfer practitioners, at the European and national level. A chemist by training, she holds a Master’s in Science from the U. Wales, UK, a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the Autonomous University in Madrid (ES), postdoctoral experience in Spain and Belgium, and training in IPR protection, management and negotiation from CEIPI (Strasbourg-EPO) and Cranfield University (UK) and an Executive training in acceleration from technology to business from IE business school in Madrid.

Since joining the European Investment Fund (EIF) in 2010, David has led the development and implementation of European Union programmes aimed at facilitating access to sustainable finance for small and medium-sized enterprises in priority areas such as the green transition, innovation and social impact, and more recently defence and scale-up financing.
He is currently EIF Senior Representative for Spain and Portugal. Previously, he served as Head of Sustainable Finance and Advisory and Head of Growth and Education Programmes.
Prior to joining the EIF, David held business development roles at CaixaBank, Morgan Stanley, Airbus and Citibank.
David holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and an MBA from CEIBS (Shanghai, China). He has also completed postgraduate executive education at Duke University (Durham, United States).

I hold a PhD in Industrial Engineering and began working in European R&D&I in 2002, participating in projects under the Sixth Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.
At the beginning of the Seventh Framework Programme (2007), I moved from research into research and innovation management and joined CDTI as Spanish Delegate and National Contact Point for programmes targeting SMEs: Research for the Benefit of SMEs under FP7 (2007–2013), the SME Instrument under Horizon 2020 (2014–2020), and the European Innovation Council (EIC) under Horizon Europe (2021–2027). I have also worked on programmes related to investment ecosystems, including Access to Risk Finance under Horizon 2020 (2014–2020) and European Innovation Ecosystems (EIE) under Horizon Europe (2021–2027).
Throughout these years, as a delegate to the Programme Committee, I have been involved in negotiations with the European Commission and representatives of the other Member States on the annual work programmes for the instruments covered by these programmes.
As a National Contact Point, my work has focused on facilitating access to these instruments for Spanish organisations, particularly technology-based startups and spin-offs. This has involved not only providing information and advice, but also developing services and programmes to support applicants throughout the process, including plug-in processes from NEOTEC, national Seal of Excellence calls, and mock interview services with experts for the EIC Accelerator.

Anna Bellmunt, PhD, is a Senior Associate at Asabys Partners, a life sciences investment firm investing across Europe. At Asabys, she works across the investment process, including opportunity assessment, scientific and business due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio support. She has particular experience in company creation and technology transfer, working closely with academic founders, research institutions and technology transfer offices to assess and develop projects arising from academic research.

Jordi Vallès Ortega is Health Innovation Manager at the ”la Caixa” Foundation, where he leads CaixaImpulse and contributes to the design and implementation of funding and support mechanisms for biomedical innovation. His work focuses on identifying, evaluating, and advancing promising health technologies from academia towards societal impact. With experience in biomedical research, technology transfer, venture building, and innovation funding, he brings a broad perspective on how public, philanthropic, and private capital can support the translation of scientific discoveries into healthcare solutions.
